Front of House Manager

Front of House Manager

Up to £30,000 DOE + 20% performance bonus- Effingham, Surrey

The Role
Do you have a minimum of 5 years’ hospitality experience, coupled with at least 3 years’ pub or bar management/leadership experience? Are you confident with exceptional customer service skills? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are a new (opening Jan ‘22) Pub and Cycle Hub concept, looking to appoint a Front of House Manager to develop at pace and be part of something very special from the start. This will be a full-time (48 hours per week) role.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Front of House Manager include, but are not limited to:

• Takes the lead on all aspects of front of house operation and guest service, supported by and supporting the General Manager.
• Provides leadership & direction to all front of house staff, ensuring execution of all employee duties.
• Ensures compliance with health & safety including fire regulations.
• Operates and instils in their team, 5-star environmental health standards, process and outstanding customer service.
• Assists in the implementation and management of back of & front of house policies and procedures throughout scheduled shift.
• Capable of all front of house duties, including cellar management, bar service & management, café service & management, including high quality espresso coffee service.
• Responsible for ordering, supplier relationships, cost control, inventory control and rotation.
• Drinks & Café menu planning.
• Delivering and managing team rota.
• Looking after all equipment and surrounding areas with cleaning schedules and maintenance
• Leads training delivery and development of all members of the Front of House team.
• Works in conjunction with GM & Kitchen Manager to deliver all commercial and customer satisfaction goals.
• Leads the hiring and development process by conducting interviews and then continuously reviewing performance and setting mutually agreed development goals.
• Leadership and motivation of their team.
The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Front of House Manager are:
• Outstanding customer service, satisfaction and consistency across the team
• People management, fostering teamwork, motivating and constructive feedback. Fostering strong and professional supplier relationships.
• Planned, organised and multi-tasker in fast paced environment.
• Developing and monitoring budgets
• Self-motivated with a high energy level and strong team ethic.
• Problem solver with a ‘will do’ attitude
• Excellent verbal communication and exceptional people skills.
• A sense of fun and humour!
• An interest in cycling or outdoor adventure/sport beneficial.
• College or apprenticeship on the job training. Level 2 food hygiene qualified.
• 5+ years of hospitality-related experience
• 3+ years of pub or bar management/ leadership experience
• Embraces and confident with all the very latest technology to support a ‘best in class ‘food & beverage’ operation.
• Experience across a broad range of food & beverage service, particularly small plates, tapas, food to go, bakes/cakes, coffee, ales, wine, spirits and cocktails.

Pay: £8-£12 per hour / Part-time but plenty of hours available

The Person:

  • Some experience in a bar, restaurant or coffee shop preferred but not essential
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Happy working in a busy, fast paced environment
  • Flexibility to support the rest of the team when needed
  • Great with customers and willing to get stuck in. Personality is key!

We are a new Pub and Cycle Hub concept, launching in Jan’22, with all-day dining and have positions available for Head Barista and Baristas/All-rounders. A great opportunity to become a valued members of our all-important ‘opening team’, who will set this new business on the first stage of it’s very exciting journey.

Our aim is to build the friendliest and most efficient team, who are focussed on delivering a ‘stand out’ customer experience (customer is Queen!).

To enable this we will be committed to the happiness and well-being of our team, with industry leading support, training and development. We are 100% independent, so not tied to any big corporate machine or chain! So lots of fun guaranteed along the way….

The People:

  • Head Barista
    • Ideally 12 months experience in a busy coffee environment
    • Excellent people skills and ability to lead and inspire the team. You set the coffee agenda!
    • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service and consistent quality
    • Happy working in a busy, fast paced environment with the latest technology
    • Flexibility to support the rest of the team when needed
    • Upholds a clean, safe environment at all times, as well as managing and caring for all the equipment

The Role/s:

As a Kitchen Assistant you will be an integral part of our Kitchen team, helping run an efficient service and maintain standards set by our Head Chef.  You may be required to be involved in food preparation and other support duties, such as running the wash up room, so a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude is a must.

Experience isn’t essential but good personality and attitude are key. We are looking for hard-working individuals excited by the launch of this new and exciting venue and who want to develop their skills with us.

Pay: Up to £15 per hour / Approx 32 hours per week / 4 days a week

The Role/s:

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day!

As our Breakfast and Lunch Chef you will be an integral part of our Kitchen team, helping run an efficient service and maintain standards set by our Head Chef.  Early mornings aren’t for everyone but if you’re an early riser who’s driven by delivering high standards of food delivery and up for the challenge of working in a new, vibrant environment then this is the role for you.

You will have a proven background having trained in reputable food led operations, have great organisational skills and work well under pressure during a busy service. A passion for seasonal produce and healthy, nutritious foods is an advantage.

The Role/s:

As Junior Sous Chef you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, helping run an efficient service and maintain standards set by our Head Chef.  You will have a proven background having trained in reputable food led operations and be competent enough to run and support on kitchen sections.

We are looking for someone who is highly competent, passionate and has experience in a previous role. A great attitude to train and develop younger cooks within the team.
